The Poseidon name is synonymous with high performance regulators and dry suits, especially amongst divers carrying out advanced cold water, mixed gas and deep diving operations around the world.

The new BC-project employs the same thinking we used to develop our world class regulators and drysuits. There is no compromise in manufacture. Versatility and robustness is standard. High performance is a design paramount.

So, although we have offered BCs before, this is the first true 'Poseidon way' BC made for the users of our regulators or dry suits, using the creative inventiveness of our development department, combined with the specialist knowledge of materials and production techniques.

More thoughts from R&D
As important as its underwater capabilities, is how a BC performs on dry land. We considered the dynamics of our new BC over the whole dive experience. We utilised the best features of high activity equipment for climbing and hiking in our system to guarantee ease of use. And finally we took infinite care in the production process, constantly checking and rechecking every single detail. The first of thousands of test dives totally vindicated our philosophy.

For technical diving the W100 or the D100 is the right choice. The W100 is a single bladder tech-wing purpose-designed for divers who need to carry more equipment than normal sport-divers and has a wide displayed wing contour to optimise the space between the wing legs, for double tanks. ClamRetract™ gives superior deflation capabilities and greater volume increases. Three dump valves and an inflator with a stainless steel mechanism controls inflation and deflation reliably and safely, whilst the bladder design compensates for the weight of the tank when submersed and gives you total freedom of movement. The narrow air passage behind the neck does not to push the head forward or conflict with regulator and hoses when inflated. Another example of superb, Poseidon ergonomics.

In keeping with our company ethos, we were determined that our BCD should provide “The Ultimate Dive”. A BCD is, after all, one of the pieces of equipment that most affects your dive.

So, in developing the BESEA we consulted a range of divers, at different stages of their dive careers; from beginners to advanced technical. We also utilised major market analysis, our own in-depth research knowledge and the wealth of experience of the Poseidon Development and Test Team (the same team that developed and tested the Xstream range of regulators).

The result is a harness with the total flexibility to fit everyone from the smallest woman to the biggest guy. BESEA is also module-based, ergonomic, versatile, made to cater for the simplest needs and the most advanced. It's a one-productfits- all concept, unisex, clean, with outstanding simplicity of design. The BESEA harness can be used as it is, without a bladder. Or with bladders which come in four different models: W40, W50, W100, D100. W-models stand for Wing models, D for dual bladder models.

W50 is a sport-wing designed to perform well for both beginners and more experienced divers. Equipped with ClamRetract™ it gives a great volume increase as well as superior bladder deflation capabilities. In fact, deflated, the W50 has the smallest size (drag) of all bladder models within the BESEA range. Four dump valves and an inflator with a stainless steel mechanism ensures inflation and deflation is always controlled and safe. Furthermore, the shape of the bladder compensates for the weight of the tank when submerged and helps give you total freedom to move in any direction. The narrow air passage behind the neck is designed not to restrict head movement or foul regulators and hoses when inflated.

We realised that your experience from your BCD purchase is far more than how it performs under the surface. In fact, performance under the surface is not a challenge, since gravity is removed. The most inconvenience occurs on land; carrying, rinsing, drying, packing, waiting, boating… We therefore wanted to give B.C. the meaning Buoyancy Comfort

When developing BESEA we redefined the term BC. It could now stand for Buoyancy Comfort.

The BESEA has the best ergonomics of any BC on the market; so it is sublimely comfortable as well as extremely usable. It's the result of fresh thinking - because if you want to do something new, to innovate, you can't borrow from existing ideas and concepts. You have to create new solutions to solve old problems. BeSea is the embodiment of this.

The BESEA W40 is made from 600 D Balistic Nylon so it is a more lightweighta although it does not have the ClamRetract. It does come with a standard work horse inflator, which has proven ability in operation over many years. The BESEA W40 Wing can be attached to either harness or, indeed, to the Stainless steel backplate. Its lift capacity is 202 N so the W40 is made for equipment with a negative weight in water that does not exceed 17 kg (37,4 lbs).
